Design Simplicity
can be anything but simple in the hands of a bride with a vision. Rebecca
wanted a wedding that was elegant, refined, and clean and cool as a pure
diamond. She choose pale blue bridesmaid dresses, a classic sleeveless
gown, and invitations that promised kept romance just barely in check
behind a shimmering veil of decorum.
Of course,
that meant that the romance broke loose in full bloom at the wedding.
After a profoundly romantic courtship, Rebecca married her sweetheart,
Chris, in the same Minneapolis church her parents wed at decades ago, in a
touching tribute to lasting love. And those flowers! The bridal party’s
understated elegance only made the profusion of brightly colored flowers
the occasion only more spectacular. Sometimes
less is more, and sometimes simplicity just puts the focus more clearly on
the things that matter the most. Rebecca had
a very clear idea of the feeling she was looking for with her invitations.
We helped her choose a romantic script and a "heart swish" as a
unifying graphic icon, and used traditional letterpress technique to set
it in heavy watercolor paper. Notes: On
the matching program, an organza ribbon laces the pages together. Portfolio: Matching place cards, program, and thank you notes. |
