About Us Our Clients As Seen Up Coming Press Releases

"I had a subscription to Bride's magazine when I was 14," says designer Sara Doherty She laughs self-consciously, because she thinks it makes her sound a bit boy-crazy, but that's not it at all.  "I just love weddings, everything about them: the colors, fabrics, styles, trends.  It's so interesting to see the different choices people make to celebrate this event.  As an invitation artist, I find weddings to be incredibly rich creative opportunities, because I get to work with so many materials and ideas, and because they are such special events."

Doherty says designing invitations give her the opportunity to blend images and emotions, and lets her tap into her backgrounds as a fine artist and as a graphic designer.  With an arts degree from a small Midwestern college, Doherty began her career in graphic design, creating corporate magazines and print materials.  But she missed the creative freedom she experienced as a student of painting, weaving, and drawing.  When she created invitations for her own wedding and those of friends, she reached back into her past to reconnect with that girl who loved weddings, and realized that as an artist, she'd discovered the perfect medium.
"I love it, because I’m able to use all of my creative skills on something that means so much to people, and is such an important part of their life story," she says. "I’ve been told by many brides that my invitations became part of some of their best memories."

January 2006 Update
Owner Sara Doherty was recently awarded “Best Invitations 2005” by Minnesota Bride magazine. Her work has been recognized in many local and national publications, and she has been a featured expert in The Knot magazine.
Doherty’s artistic passion and her ability to capture each client’s personality in her work has made Crazy Daisy Design a design firm without equal in the wedding industry.

“I let each client guide the direction of my work, but I also closely follow international style trends, the art world, and bridal and special event fashions, to keep my work current and exciting,” Doherty says. “My goal is to give my clients a piece that perfectly complements their wedding, and also helps shape the event by kindling excitement and giving the client a set of graphic elements they can use as a guide as they continue to make decisions.”

Crazy Daisy Design is also now offering prepackaged stationary for special occasions, including thank you cards, bridesmaid cards, and party invitations, with the same quality and artistic flair the firm’s wedding invitations are known for.
